August 2020

Message from the President

About once a week, a client arrives early and I still need a few minutes to finish their job. In the past, I usually send them over to the Dairy Queen behind my shop to grab an ice cream cone for the 15 minutes I still need. But since the SWCA Edmonton book has been printed, I have been encouraging them to sit and go through our designated sample book instead. Everyone who has done so loves it! (And yes, I make sure they sanitize their hands right after!) We have even had a few sales this way too, as the book just sells itself really. So have fun showing off the book to neighbours and relatives and let them know they can get their own by visiting

Member, Cynthia Clark is hosting a paint-out day this month! See below for details. She tells me her yard has never looked so good. I hope we can get a good turn-out.... and there is plenty of room to social distance. Remember to RSVP to her!

I hope you are having a fun summer and are able to get out to enjoy this warm weather. I actually have a bicycle again and am enjoying it immensely! Do take care, stay safe.

Eveline Garneau, SWCA President

This is a mural that Signworks Plus recently created at the Misericordia Hospital down the hall from the new chapel. As part of the commission for this work, funds were to be donated to the arts. SWCA was the chosen recipient and was presented with a cheque for $1200. Thank you!! We are very grateful to receive this donation to continue with the work of artists helping artists!
