Message from the President

I am so excited! Phil Alain of Night of Artists has offered us a table at this year's March event to be able to promote our art club! What a wonderful opportunity to share what our club does and to show off (and sell) our beautiful Edmonton Book. We do need some volunteers to man the table, so please see below for more details.

Another thing that I am excited about is that almost all of the current Executive has agreed to stay on for another year. This makes the AGM so much more relaxed and fun to attend. Ya, I know, elections are never fun, but this should be quite painless... really!! Hee hee. Only one Executive position needs to be filled and there is more about that further in this newsletter.

With COVID restrictions easing, the Executive feels that we can start looking at filling some of the Committee Chairpersons positions that have had a break due to the pandemic. Workshops should be able to start getting planned again - just to name one.

One area where the Executive would really like some help with is Programs. Throughout the past two years, program planning has been a major part of our Executive meetings and our small group is running out of ideas. If your head is full of ideas for educational programs, we want you!! (Picture us with our fingers pointing to you, like that poster). The Executive is still willing to help put the programs together, we just want somebody with fresh ideas to help. This position can definitely be shared!

And lastly, I want to give a personal THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the volunteers that have kept this Society going over the past year. I look forward to being able to have an actual volunteer recognition evening in-person soon. Fingers crossed. It might need to be an outdoor summer evening one, but that would be fun too!

Is spring around the corner???

Eveline Garneau, SWCA President
